The company
The Company was founded in 1980 when Jean-Claude Rioux was subcontracted by Montreal-based Pro-Fibre to produce fiberglass-covered steps. In 1984 with diversification into fiberglass balconies and decks, the Company was incorporated.
Two years later, Mr. Rioux's son Valier came on board to apply his moulding process knowledge and composite materials expertise to the manufacture of a growing variety of fiberglass components. In 1990 Valier acquired the business.
In 1992, Les Fibres de Verre Rioux partnered with another local business in the development of the "biofilter", a residential waste-water treatment system. Les Fibres de Verre Rioux has manufactured the product ever since.
Valier Rioux and Arnaud Gagnon became partners in 1995 and that partnership spurred dramatic growth over the following years.
In order to diversify its operations, expand its scope throughout the province and increase its sales volume, the Company has made a few acquisitions over the years. In 2001, the Company acquired Les Plastiques Renforcés Tricoire of St-Germain-de-Grantham as well as Niteram's (fiberglass boats) assets.
In 2007, Arnaud Gagnon bought out his partner Valier Rioux who remained in a sales function for the balcony division. In 2008,
